Found this quoted on a Neurodiversity page...

It probably sounds extreme to many, but one should be aware that this is true for many people diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome - many have an experience of bullying and abuse for simply having a peculiar behavior, and just see more of just that bullying and abuse when they are described as victims of who they are.
