Ouch

I've been really dizzy for a long time now, going on years of it but becoming more and more frequent and severe... That and memory loss. I forget if I've medicated Jaymes. I forget appointments, I forget things I've just been told. I forget phone numbers. I read out loud to the kids and sometimes can't read the words even though it's Dr. Seuss, and I know how to read. I forget what I'm saying in mid sentence. It's scary. If something happens to me, who does Jaymes have to advocate for him, and get him what he needs?

So I went to the ER. 4 hours and a CT scan later (and a $2000 bill I can't pay) I came out with a prescription I can't afford to fill and the suggestion to see a neurologist. Yay, thanks so much for all your valuable help. Why did I bother? I can't see a neurologist. No insurance. They want payment up front, no payment plans. WTF am I supposed to do?

Wow... I can't believe they can still charge you so much even when they find nothing wrong. I guess vets still charge for finding nothing... but man.

My sister does not have insurance and she talked with the social worker at the hospital who was able to reduce her bill from 20,000 to 100. So you may want to call and talk with the social worker at the hospital and explain your situation (can't hurt). About the dizziness, this may not be the same but thought I would share. I fell and hit my head and afterwards had severe vertigo, I went to a neurologist who wanted to do a MRI and all kinds of crap. I had already been seeing a chiropractor for my back so I told him about it. He did some research and sent me to an ear specialist. They said we all "rocks" (slang word) in our ears that keep our balance and when they are out of place you get vertigo. I had hit my head so hard I knocked my rocks loose, lol. Anyway they just manipulated my head this way and that and in one visit the dizziness was gone. I had never heard of such a thing before and would not believe it if it hadn't happen to me. If I had listened to the Neuro they would have ran thousands of dollars worth of tests and still had no answers for me. Thank God for my chiro!!! Good luck I hope you feel better soon, I know who awful it is.
