And within five minutes of being put in it, he was out.
I'm trying to hard not to crack up, but I can't help it. I feel for the poor bus driver, and I hope he can talk the school into giving Jaymes a bus aide, because I have not been able to. Why does Jaymes need a bus aide, you may ask?
- He changes seats every two seconds
- He climbs on top of other kids
- He opens his backpack and dumps stuff all over
- He tries to exit the bus
- He hangs out in the aisles
- He hits and kicks other kids
- He's Jaymes- Tiny, delicate, and easy to send catapulting through a bus windshield if there is an accident and he's not restrained in a seat

Good luck. Sounds like it will be interesting. When I read your post yesterday I was wondering why he didn't have a bus aid. Why are schools so darn cheap! I hope things go better next year.
Hi, just stopped over to your blog from Halo's Beautiful Spectrum. I have an Autistic sister who is about 16 now. Good luck with getting your son an aide on the bus. If I've learned anything from watching and helping my mom raise my sister, it's that you have to fight a lot. My mom's had a lot of troubles with the school district and getting things for my sister that she needs. The battle right now is keeping her on the special ed bus, they're trying to talk my mom into letting her on the bigger bus with no supervision. They're trying to save on money and cut out whatever they don't think they "need" to spend on. It's always one thing after another. Looking forward to reading your blog. :)

Awwww good luck!! I know how those IEP meetings go! Some good - some bad - sometimes you have to fight just to be heard. I usually go in there with a list and then forget half of it :(
We're going to discuss a bus aide on the 21st, at his kindergarten transition meeting. I hope they'll give him that aide!
It really is a battle. The schools never seem to want to give anything extra, it's sad. But, we'll fight it out and get what we can!
Of course they never want to give anything extra. They like to save the money they receive from the state to TAKE CARE of your child instead of using it for it's purpose.
The of course they demand I provide 50, yes FIFTY glue sticks for Kindergarten year. Isn't that nuts? 50?!
